Haiku

A single leaf
Falls on the still river.
Gentle ripples echoing Fall.

Haiku By Olia McCauley

Struggling
The things I cannot conceive
But my mind is ever vast!

On Behalf of My Shadow

Indignant shadow, slave to the unseen master
That moves me,
Within this prism of firm belief,
I rectify you with sympathy.
To break your chains, I too must perish,
The prism of my knowing, shattered.
But, light of day, I ask you,
Shine through this prism!
Let my shadow be burdened
With the noble purpose of teaching me humility
As I walk with foolhardy steps
Through the darkening world.

A Gift of Mercy

My flesh is tangled with desire and memory.
But my soul, like an unquenchable fire,
Is free.
When the cacophonous storm
That makes each path impassable
Blows over, I will sleep.
Till then, I leave no mercy for myself
And scan the rain-soaked world
From behind the golden veil of my dreams.
